It's that time of year again. The Tucson Gem Show is about to start which means we will soon begin our annual pilgrimage to scour the gem show booths and venues for new and unusual gems and materials for our jewelry. On the top of our list is finding new colors of dinosaur bone for our dinosaur bone rings and jewelry. We typically see lots of red dinosaur bone but are always on the lookout for the more elusive yellows, blues and greens. We have a couple of dinosaur bone vendors we usually see and purchase from but sometimes the best treasures are found in some of the off the beaten path shows. The Tucson Gem show has become huge. As you make your way from location to location and try to cover as much ground as you can, you can't help but think you could be missing something special because you just don't have the time to see everything. I will keep you posted on what we find and post photos of the new dinosaur bone rings we will make from our discoveries.

Nice piece of rough dinosaur bone. You can see the red color in the chip.
